The bill (Reg. No. 7164) supplements the Criminal Code with a new clause 442-1
that establishes criminal responsibility for the crimes against humanity. Under this clause, "committal of wide-scale and systematic deliberate actions, declared as binding by The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and generally recognized principles and
norms of the international law, determined as crimes against humanity is punished
by imprisonment for 10-15 years or life sentence."
The Committee members believe that adoption of the bill will facilitate fulfillment of international commitments of Ukraine in the sphere of humanitarian law.
